Pinterest Spring Nails 2026: The Looks Everyone's Saving

If your Pinterest feed looks anything like ours, it's currently a mix of polka dots, jade greens and soft, petal-coloured everything, and you've probably already saved a few. Spring 2026 nails are leaning playful again after a quiet winter. More colour, more pattern, a little more fun with mixing things up. The looks getting saved right now aren't one single trend either, it's a real spread, so we've pulled out the six we're seeing everywhere and the LA-BEK shades that get you there at home. ย  1. Polka Dots, Everywhere Polka dots are having a genuine moment on Pinterest this season, searches for the look are up well over 2,000%. Not the bold, retro kind either, it's softer than that: fine dots scattered over a sheer or pale base, almost like confetti. It's a surprisingly easy trend to wear, and we've genuinely got a polka dot lineup for it. Pink Drop is the classic take, fine silver foil dots scattered over a pale blush-pink base. Prefer no lamp? Cream Drop gives you the same retro polka dot look in our UV-Free range, peel and press, no curing required. For something a little more modern, Polka Dot Tide fades from soft grey to dusty lilac with dots scattered right through it, and Pink Speckle gives you that same scattered, flecked finish in a warmer pink. Shop Polka Dot Nail Wraps ย  ย  2. Jade Greens and Botanical Tones Green is back in a big way. Pinterest's seeing jade marble nails spike over 400%, and there's a broader "get me outside" mood driving searches for leafy, botanical shades. This is a genuinely strong section of our range. Secret Garden is the statement pick, glittering botanical illustrations across a deep black base. For something quieter, Olive is a muted, grown-up green that works for everyday wear, and Pistachio goes paler and softer again. Prefer no lamp? Sea Foam Green brings the same fresh green tone to our UV-Free range. Shop Green Nail Wraps ย  ย  3. Soft Petal Pastels Alongside all the colour and pattern, there's a quieter trend running underneath it: soft, feminine pastels. Think petal pink and warm cream rather than anything candy-bright, the kind of shade that reads polished rather than sweet. Soft Pink is our most-loved everyday version of this, an ultra-sheer, barely-there blush. Pink Pearl adds a fine shimmer for a bit more polish, and Peach Sunday brings in a warmer, sheer peach if pink's not quite your shade. Strawberry Milkshake is the slightly deeper, creamier option if you want a touch more colour. Shop Soft Pink Nail Wraps ย  ย  4. Balletcore: Ballet Slipper Nails This is the trend with its own name, and it's a big one. Balletcore's back, a little grittier than the tulle-and-cardigans version from a few years ago, but the nails have gone softer than ever: Pinterest's seeing record saves on nude, ballet-slipper pink right now, sometimes with a bow or ribbon worked in. Three ways we'd wear it. Ballet Ribbons is the easiest way in, a soft mauve-taupe with a rose-gold shimmer nail running through the set, finished with a fine hand-drawn bow. Ballet Blush keeps it plain and glossy if you want the trend without any shimmer or pattern at all (this one's currently out of stock on our end, so hold off linking it until it's back). And for the dressier version, Sparkling French Rosรฉ with a Mini Bows Nail Art Decal pressed above the smile line gives you the French-tip-plus-bow look that's all over Pinterest right now. Shop Ballet Blush Shades ย  5. Cool Blue Carries Into Spring Winter's biggest colour isn't going anywhere. Pinterest's calling cool blue the shade that "transcends seasons" in 2026, and it's easy to see why, it works just as well against spring's brighter palette as it did against knits and coats. Navy Pool is the deep, glossy option if you want real depth. Azure Tide is the standout for spring specifically, a blue and pink marble laced with gold, it's genuinely one of the prettiest ways to wear this trend (it's a newer shade and stock is limited, so don't wait too long if it catches your eye). Want it softer? Periwinkle sits right between blue and lilac, all the coolness of blue without going full navy. If you'd rather skip the lamp, Sea Glass gives you a softer, shimmery aqua blue. Shop Blue Nail Wraps ย  ย  6. Mismatched Manis This is the trend that ties everything else together. Pinterest's seeing a real rise in searches for "nails with different colours on each hand", nobody's matching every finger anymore, and honestly, we've been saying this for a while: our Edits are designed to mix. Try a green from Matcha Mornings on one hand and a pink from Picnic Club on the other, Pistachio and Pink Lemonade is a lovely pairing if you want to try it (Pink Lemonade's buttery yellow undertone is a nice nod to the soft yellows showing up on Pinterest too). Or go bolder and pair a Matcha Mornings shade with something from Azure Escape. There's no wrong combination, that's really the whole point of the trend. If you want the full lineup to mix and match from, we pulled our whole spring range together in Inside The Spring Edit 2026. The biggest shift this spring? It's all about mixing. If there's one thread running through everything above, it's this: spring 2026 isn't about picking one trend and committing. It's dots on one set, greens the next, a floral sticker pressed over whatever you're already wearing. That's also what makes this season easy to recreate at home, nothing here needs to be perfect or matched. ย  Ready to shop the trends? Everything above is drawn from our current Spring Edit, browse the full collection to see how each mood works together, or explore our complete gel nail wrap range across every colour and finish. Laura + Bek ย  Pinterest Spring Nails FAQs Are these actual Pinterest trends, or just what LA-BEK likes right now? These six are drawn from Pinterest's own 2026 trend data and search growth, polka dots, jade greens, soft pastels, balletcore, cool blue and mismatched manis are all genuinely trending on the platform right now. We've matched them to shades from our current range rather than the other way around. โธป Do I need a UV lamp to recreate these looks? Depends which shade. Most of the wraps above are Semi-Cured, which need a UV lamp and wear 2+ weeks. Sea Foam Green and Sea Glass are UV-Free, no lamp, peel and press, wearing 7 to 10 days. The Spring Details stickers press onto either, no lamp required for the sticker itself. โธป Can I really mix shades from different moods on the same set, or even different hands? Yes, and it's genuinely one of this season's biggest trends. There's no rule that says a full set has to come from one mood or one Edit. Mixing is the point. โธป How long will these shades be around? They're part of our current Spring Edit, so they're seasonal. Some may earn a permanent spot in our everyday range once spring wraps up, others will retire or return next year. If a shade in this post has caught your eye, it's worth grabbing sooner rather than later. โธป How do I remove them without damaging my natural nails? Always use oil, never peel. Peeling can take layers of your natural nail off with it, which works against everything you're trying to do by wearing wraps in the first place. Short natural nails, the starting point in Ellie's five week nail story

A real customer email, lightly edited for length. Name changed and no photos included, at her request. ย  Every so often an email lands in our inbox that stops us in our tracks. This one did. It's from a customer we're calling Ellie, and it's about hands, habits, and giving yourself permission to feel proud of something so small. Ellie picked her nails her whole life. "Down to the wick" is how she put it. She'd tried everything to stop and nothing had stuck. Then two mates who already wore la-bek put wraps on her thumbnails during a weekend away in May, half as a joke, half as an intervention. They lasted less than 24 hours. But something about seeing polish on her nails, even briefly, was enough. She let her real nails grow for two weeks before trying wraps on her own for the first time. The messy middle Her first set was Transparent Pink. She wasn't sold. Her real nails were still visible underneath, and because she didn't want to file the wraps right down, she ended up with fluff trapped underneath and not much surface area for them to hold onto. They lifted. They fell off. She'd already watched our video on applying wraps to short nails, so none of it surprised her, and crucially, having something on her nails at all was enough to stop her picking. A week later she switched to Olive. A darker colour hid what was underneath and disguised the fluff. Still some lifting, still the odd wrap falling off, but by now she was cutting most of them in half to make a pack stretch further, and slowly learning the technique of filing and shaping nails she'd genuinely never had before. Her third set, Lavender Whip with a few Secret Garden accents, lasted properly. That's when it clicked, both the application and, unexpectedly, the fun of it. She never thought of herself as a nail art person. Turns out pretty colours and a bit of pattern give her, in her words, "much needed daily dopamine hits." Five weeks in By week five, some of her nails were long enough that she had to trim them. Her thumbs, unsurprisingly the most damaged to begin with, are still catching up. Her family noticed before she said a word. Her mum and sister have started wearing LA-BEK too, and now do their nails together. Her mum, in her seventies, has always had lovely nails but they've started to split with age, and wearing wraps has given her a bit of her own nail pride back. Ellie told us she hadn't realised how much she'd been hiding her hands, or how bad she genuinely felt about them, until she stopped. What we took from this We're not going to claim LA-BEK breaks habits. Every set of hands is different, and this is one customer's experience, not a promise. But Ellie's story is a good reminder of why we do this. Not the wraps, but what having something you're proud to look at can do. One more thing. Ellie's only feedback for us was a request: a video showing wraps on very short or bitten nails specifically, using the lighter shades, with an honest look at the early challenges. Noted, Ellie. Watch this space. Laura + Bek FAQs Will la-bek wraps work on very short or bitten nails? Yes, though you'll want to go in with realistic expectations. Less nail means less surface area for the wrap to grip, so lifting is more likely at first, especially on thumbs. Darker or opaque colours also do a better job of covering the nail bed underneath than sheer or transparent shades. โธป Can wraps help stop nail biting or picking? We can't promise that, and we'd never claim it as a cure. What some customers, like Ellie, find is that having something on their nails is a helpful physical reminder and makes picking harder to do without noticing. Everyone's experience is different. โธป Do I need a UV lamp for semi-cured gel wraps? Yes. Semi-cured wraps are real liquid gel, about 60% cured, and need a UV lamp to fully set. If you'd rather skip the lamp altogether, our UV-free gel wraps are peel and press with no curing required, though they wear for a shorter 7 to 10 days. โธป What's the difference between semi-cured and UV-free? Think of them as two handbags for different occasions, not an upgrade or downgrade. Semi-cured wraps need a lamp and wear 2 weeks or more, ideal for weak, short or damaged nails and long-wear lovers. UV-free wraps need no lamp and wear about 7 to 10 days, ideal for travel, quick manis and low-maintenance moments. โธป How do I remove them without damaging my nails further? Always use oil, never peel. Peeling wraps off can take layers of your natural nail with them, which is the opposite of what you want if you're trying to grow yours out. ย  Written by Laura & Bek Founders of LA-BEK, an Australian brand creatingย semi-cured gel nail wraps and UV-free gel nail wraps designed to make salon-quality nails simple, at home. ย

Using a hair dryer to warm gel nail wraps before applying them

We stumbled onto this one almost by accident. A quick warm-up with a hair dryer before application, and suddenly everything sat better: a stronger hold, cleaner edges. It's such a small step that it feels like it shouldn't matter. It does, especially with UV-Free. ย  Why warmth makes a difference Warmth does two different jobs depending on which wraps you're wearing. Forย UV-Free wraps, the adhesive is what bonds the wrap to your nail. A little heat makes that adhesive tackier and more workable, similar to warming sticky tape before you use it. That means a stronger hold and fewer lifted edges later on. Forย Semi-Cured wraps, it's the gel itself that benefits. Heat makes the strip more pliable, so it moulds to your nail shape more easily and smooths down cleanly. The UV lamp is still what actually cures it, warmth just makes the application step easier before you get there. The finishing move We've started finishing every mani the same way now: once everything's applied, a quick, gentle warm-up over the nails, then a firm press along the edges with the Precision Tweezers. It seals everything down while the wrap (or the adhesive underneath it) is still warm and workable. It's become one of those small habits that makes a real difference to how long a set lasts. = Mid-wear fix: hair getting stuck This is the one most people don't expect. You're not applying anything, you're a week or so into wearing your set, and you notice a strip has started catching in your hair. That's a lifted edge, usually right at the tip or side. Don't pick at it or peel it off. Warm it gently with the hair dryer, then press the edge back down with the tweezers. It reseals in seconds and buys the rest of your set more wear time. We've got a full breakdown of why this happens in the first place in Why Do Semi-Cured Gel Nails Catch in Your Hair, and How to Fix It, worth a read if it keeps happening. Reviving strips that have gone hard This one's Semi-Cured specific. If you've opened a pack and left it sitting near a sunny window for a while, you might notice the strips have started to harden. That's the gel reacting to natural UV light, the same thing that eventually happens under your lamp, just slower and unplanned. A gentle warm from the hair dryer softens them back up enough to apply properly. It won't undo strips that have fully cured hard, but it will rescue ones that have only just started to go. How to do it without burning anything A few rules we stick to: Use a warm setting, not the hottest one. You want warmth, not heat. Hold the dryer roughly 15 to 20cm away from your nails. Keep it moving rather than holding it in one spot, so the heat doesn't concentrate anywhere. A few seconds is usually enough. If it feels too warm on your skin, it's too close or too long. That's it. No special tools, no timer, just your everyday hair dryer doing a second job. Small habit, real difference. Next time you're applying (or rescuing) a set, give it a go. Laura + Bek Hair Dryer Hack FAQs Does heating gel nail wraps with a hair dryer actually work? Yes. Warming wraps briefly before application is a widely used trick. For UV-Free it makes the adhesive tackier for a stronger hold, for Semi-Cured it makes the gel more pliable so it moulds and smooths more easily. โธป Do I still need to cure Semi-Cured wraps under a UV lamp if I heat them with a hair dryer? Yes, always. Heat only helps with application, it doesn't cure the gel. Semi-Cured wraps still need 60 seconds under your UV LED Lamp to reach full strength. โธป What setting should I use on my hair dryer? A warm setting, not the hottest one, held around 15 to 20cm away and kept moving. A few seconds is enough. If it feels hot on your skin, it's too close or too long. โธป My strip is catching in my hair a few days into wearing it. What do I do? Don't pick at it or pull it off. Gently warm the lifted edge and press it back down with the Precision Tweezers. It reseals quickly and buys the rest of your set more wear time. โธป My Semi-Cured strips went hard after I left them near a window. Can I still use them? If they've only just started to harden, a gentle warm from the hair dryer will usually soften them enough to apply. Strips that have fully cured hard won't come back. โธป Does this trick work for both Semi-Cured and UV-Free wraps? Both benefit from a quick warm-up before applying, but the reason differs. UV-Free gets a stronger adhesive bond, Semi-Cured gets easier, smoother application. The near-window hardening issue is Semi-Cured only. LA-BEK cuticle balm and cuticle oil pen side by side

We get asked this a lot: do you actually need both the oil and the balm, or is one enough? Fair question, they sit next to each other on the site and sound like they're doing the same job. They're not, and once you know the difference it's a pretty easy routine to stick to. ย  Oil vs balm: what's actually different Cuticle Oil Penย is the daily one. Twist the base, the brush soaks up oil, glide it along the cuticle line. It's vitamin E and jojoba, light enough to reapply through the day without feeling greasy, and it lives wherever you'll actually use it: a bag, a desk drawer, the car. Cuticle Balmย ย is the overnight one. It's a heavier almond oil and vitamin E formula, built to sit on the skin longer and do its work while you sleep. Apply before bed, wake up to softer cuticles and hands. We didn't just pick a nice-smelling formula off a shelf for this one either, we went back and forth on that almond oil and vitamin E blend specifically until it actually did something for nail health, not just softened skin for an hour. Think of it as day and night rather than either/or. The oil pen keeps things topped up while you're out and about, the balm does the deeper overnight work. Used together consistently, that's what actually strengthens nails and keeps cuticles looking tidy between manis, not just a pre-mani ritual, a daily habit worth having. Get both in theย Nail Care Bundleย if you're starting from scratch, it's the day and night pair in one order. ย  Why your pusher matters more than you'd think This is the part people skip. A lot of us either don't push our cuticles back at all, or reach for whatever metal tool is nearest, nail scissors, a metal pusher, sometimes even a fingernail. All of that risks nicking the nail bed or scratching the surface, which shows up later as rough patches or snagging. Theย Glass Cuticle Pusherย does the same job with none of that risk. Smooth glass head, gentle angled edge, no scratching. Wash it, dry it, use it again, it's a reusable swap for a wooden orange stick and it'll last for years. The technique is simple: a drop of Cuticle Oil Pen, wait about 30 seconds for the cuticle to soften, then push back gently with the angled glass head. That's it. Clean nail bed, better wrap adhesion if you're prepping for a mani, and a much lower chance of catching or tearing anything. We've written a full walk-through of the technique itself inย How Do I Push Back My Cuticles? if you want the step-by-step. ย  Building the routine Here's roughly how we'd put it together: Morning or through the day: Cuticle Oil Pen, glide along the cuticle line whenever you think of it. Once or twice a day is plenty. Before bed: Cuticle Balm, worked into cuticles and any dry patches on your hands. Give it two to three weeks before you judge it, that's when the difference actually shows. Before applying a wrap: oil first to soften, then the Glass Cuticle Pusher to clean up the cuticle line. Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards to remove all oil before you apply, wraps need a clean, oil-free nail to bond properly. Better prep means better adhesion and longer wear. None of it takes more than a minute or two. It's just remembering to do it. Small routine, real difference over a few weeks. Laura + Bek ย  ย  Cuticle Care FAQs Do I need both cuticle oil and cuticle balm, or just one? They do different jobs. The oil pen is light, daily, and portable, made for topping up through the day. The balm is heavier and made for overnight use. Used together you get day and night coverage, but if you only want one to start, the oil pen is the easier daily habit to build first. โธป How long until I actually notice a difference? Give it two to three weeks of regular use. Cuticle and nail health builds gradually, not overnight, so consistency matters more than any single application. โธป Can I use cuticle oil instead of pushing my cuticles back? They work together rather than replacing each other. Oil softens the cuticle, the Glass Cuticle Pusher is what actually moves it back cleanly. Oil alone softens skin but won't tidy the cuticle line the way a proper pusher does. โธป Why use a glass pusher instead of a metal one or my nails? Metal tools and nails can nick or scratch the nail bed, which shows up later as rough patches or snagging. The glass head on our pusher is smooth and gentle by design, and unlike a wooden orange stick, it's reusable for years. โธป How often should I push my cuticles back? Before every fresh set is the easiest habit to build, since it also improves how well your wraps sit and wear. Outside of that, once a week is a reasonable general rhythm if your cuticles tend to grow over the nail plate quickly. โธป Is the Nail Care Bundle worth it over buying separately? If you're planning to use both the oil pen and the balm regularly, yes, it's the two paired together in one order. If you only want one of them to start, buy that one on its own and add the other later. Can You Shower, Swim and Wash Up With Gel Nail Wraps? Your Real-Life Questions, Answered

Your Real-Life Questions, Answered Most of our DMs start with a version of the same question. "Can Iโ€ฆ" Can I shower with these. Can I swim with these. Can I wash my hair, get in a hot tub, hold the steering wheel, exist as a real person? The short answer is yes. Gel nail wraps are designed for real life, that's the whole point. But there are a few small things worth knowing if you want them to last the full 2+ weeks rather than start lifting on day five. Here's exactly what your wraps can handle, what they can't, and what to tweak in your everyday routine. Can I shower with gel nail wraps? Yes. A normal shower won't affect your wraps at all. What can shorten their wear is long, very hot showers, the kind where you come out a bit pink. Prolonged heat softens the gel edges over time and creates space for lifting. A few small habits help:- Keep particularly long showers a little cooler if you can- Don't fully soak your nails in standing hot water- Pat your hands dry rather than rubbing Daily showers? Totally fine. Long winter soaks? Worth being mindful. Can I wash my hair with gel wraps on? Yes, absolutely. Shampoo, conditioner, masks, none of it affects your wraps. Your hair routine is a non-issue. Photo: Soft Pink Semi-cured Gel Nails Can I swim in a pool with gel nail wraps? A few things to know:- Chlorine is fine for the wraps themselves (they're sealed, not painted)- Prolonged time in water can soften edges, so back-to-back pool days might shorten your wear by a day or two- Sunscreen is your friend, apply before you swim, not after (oily sunscreens applied straight to clean wet hands can occasionally affect lift) If you're a regular swimmer, your wraps will still last a respectable amount of time, just maybe closer to 10 days than 2+ weeks. Can I swim in the ocean? Yes. Saltwater is genuinely fine for gel wraps, arguably better than pool water because it doesn't have chlorine. The main thing to watch for is sand. If you've been digging at the beach or sitting in wet sand, give your nails a gentle rinse afterwards so nothing's stuck under your tips. Photo: Barbie Pink Semi-cured Gel Nails What about hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms? Here's where we'd be slightly more cautious. - Hot tubs, short stints (10โ€“15 minutes) are fine. Long soaks combine heat and prolonged water, which is the worst combo for wrap longevity.- Saunas, usually fine because they're dry heat for short periods.- Steam rooms, short visits are okay; longer sessions can soften edges. If you're doing a spa day, just keep an eye on your edges afterwards and press any small lifts back down with the rubber end of our Precision Tweezers (the hairdryer reseal trick also works beautifully). On saying that on hot tubs, Laura our co-founder has spent many time at the Peninsula Hot Springs for the day and had no lifting or issues with our semi-cured gel nail wraps. Photo: Inkwell Semi-cured Gel Nails and Aztec Gold Nail Decals Can I wash dishes with gel wraps on? Yes โ€” but wear gloves if you want them to last. Hot soapy water for 10+ minutes a day is one of the single biggest causes of early lifting. It softens the edges, lets water seep underneath, and slowly works wraps loose. Washing-up gloves are a $5 investment that genuinely doubles the life of a set. Can I cook and chop with gel wraps on? Yes, your wraps can handle normal cooking, chopping, kneading, and everything else in the kitchen. A few small notes:- Knife edges against the nail are fine (wraps are flexible)- Lemon and acidic foods are fine- Hot oil splashes are fine (you're not curing them, just glancing heat) Use gloves for big roasting cleanups or scrubbing baked-on pans. Photo: Lavender Haze Semi-cured Gel Nails Can I exercise and sweat with gel wraps on? 100%. Cardio, yoga, weights, running, Pilates, your wraps couldn't care less. Sweat doesn't affect the gel. Lifting weights doesn't loosen them (the gel is bonded, not glued on top). The one thing to watch for: grip chalk and tape at the gym can occasionally catch a slightly lifting edge. If you climb, lift heavy, or do anything with chalk, give your edges a quick press with the rubber end of your tweezers after each session. Can I sleep with newly applied wraps? Yes, once you've cured a Semi-Cured set under the lamp (or pressed in a UV-Free set firmly), you can go to sleep immediately. The gel is fully set. No drying, no smudging, no waiting. This is the bit that genuinely converts people from polish. Photo: Precision Tweezers Can I get my hands wet straight after applying wraps? A small wait helps: - Semi-Cured wraps: Once cured under the lamp, they're fully set. You can technically get them wet immediately, but we'd recommend waiting an hour or so just to let the seal fully settle.- UV-Free wraps: Wait at least 30 minutes after pressing them in before getting them wet, this gives the bond time to set properly. If you're applying in the evening, let them sit overnight before swimming or doing dishes. You won't regret the extra patience. Photo: Pixie Dust UV-Free Gel Nails Can I apply hand cream and cuticle oil with wraps on? Yes โ€” please do. Hand cream and cuticle oil applied over the top of your wraps:- Keep your cuticles healthy (which reduces lifting)- Protect the surrounding skin- Make your wraps last longer, not shorter The only time to avoid them is before applying a fresh set, your nails need to be clean and oil-free for application. Once wraps are on, oil away. What about gardening and rough work? Wraps are surprisingly tough, but if you're doing heavy garden work, demolition, or anything where your nails will take a beating, gloves are your friend. The wraps themselves won't shatter or peel from a single rough day. But weeks of unprotected hard work will shorten any manicure. So what's the real list of things to be careful with? Yes, please do. If you take one thing from this post, it's this, these three things are what actually shortens wrap wear: 1. Long, hot water exposure (showers, baths, hot dishwashing)2. Picking, peeling, or biting at the edges3. Skipping cuticle oil in your daily routine Almost everything else is a non-issue. Quick recap - Showering โœ“- Swimming (pool + ocean) โœ“- Sweating + exercise โœ“- Cooking + chopping โœ“- Hair washing โœ“- Sleeping โœ“- Dishes โœ“ (with gloves)- Hot tubs โš ๏ธ (short stints only)- Long hot baths โš ๏ธ (the actual enemy) Real life with gel wraps is genuinely the same as real life without them โ€” just with nicer nails. Salon-quality longevity, minus the salon. The fixes are small. The difference is huge. Want everything you need to make your wraps last? Browse our Nail Care range for cuticle oil and prep essentials, or grab a Starter Kit if you want everything bundled. And if you're ready for a fresh set, the full UV-Free and Semi-Cured ranges are right here. Real-Life Wear FAQs How long do gel nail wraps actually last with normal life? Most people get:- UV-Free wraps: 7โ€“10 days- Semi-Cured wraps: up to 2+ weeks If you live a hot-water-heavy life (frequent dishes, long baths, hot tubs), you might land at the lower end of those ranges. If you wear gloves for hot water and apply cuticle oil daily, you'll hit the longer end consistently. โธป Will swimming on holiday wreck my mani? Not at all. A normal week of holiday swimming, pool, ocean, both, won't ruin your wraps. What helps:- Apply cuticle oil at the end of each day- Rinse off chlorine or saltwater before showers- Wear a hat instead of constantly running your fingers through wet hair Your nails will look just as good getting off the plane as they did getting on. โธป Why do my wraps lift faster than my friend's? This is super common and almost always comes down to two things: 1. Nail biology: some people have oilier or more porous nails (our Not All Nails Are the Same post covers this in detail)2. Daily habits: more hot water, more dishes, more time at the gym Both are completely normal. Small adjustments make a real difference. โธป Can I shower straight after applying my wraps? We'd recommend waiting at least an hour after a Semi-Cured set is cured, or 30 minutes after pressing in a UV-Free set. Best practice: apply your wraps in the evening, sleep on them, shower normally in the morning. You're set for the next 2 weeks. โธป Do gel wraps protect my nails from damage? In many cases, yes, wraps form a protective layer over your natural nail. People often find their nails:- Stop snagging on hair, clothes, and gym equipment- Break less often- Grow longer (because they're not breaking at the tips) That's why we hear so often from people who say their nails got stronger during a wraps phase, not weaker. โธป Will sunscreen affect my wraps? Sunscreen over applied wraps is fine. The only thing to be careful of is applying oily sunscreens to slightly damp or recently washed hands and then immediately reapplying or refreshing a wrap edge. Let the sunscreen sink in first. โธป Can I do hot yoga or sauna sessions with wraps? Short sessions (30โ€“45 minutes) are usually fine. Repeated, long-duration heat sessions multiple times a week may shorten your wraps' wear time. If you're a hot yoga regular, expect closer to the lower end of the wear range rather than 2+ weeks. A daily cuticle oil habit helps a lot. โธป What's the single best thing I can do for longer wear? If you remember one thing โ€” cuticle oil. Daily. It supports your cuticles, keeps your wrap edges sealed, and reduces lifting from almost every direction. Pop a Cuticle Oil Pen by your bedside. One stroke per nail before bed. That's it. Gel Nail Wraps vs Press-Ons: An Honest Side-by-Side Comparison

The at-home nail world has exploded over the last few years. Two of the biggest categories โ€” gel nail wraps and press-on nails โ€” get compared all the time, often by people who haven't tried both. So we wanted to write the honest version. Not ours is better. Just โ€” here's what each actually is, what each does well, what each doesn't, and who each one is for. Make the call from there. The quick verdict If you just want the headline: - Press-ons โ€” best for quick, one-night looks. Reusable. Fast off and on. Less of a "second skin" feel.- Gel wraps โ€” best for everyday wear. Sit flush to your natural nail. Last 1โ€“2+ weeks. Look and feel like a salon manicure. If you want the full picture, read on. What each one actually is A bit of context, because the terms get used loosely. Press-on nails Press-ons are pre-shaped plastic or acrylic tips designed to sit on top of your natural nail. They're attached using either:- Sticky tabs (temporary, easier to remove)- Nail glue (longer-lasting, harder to remove) They're sold in sets of 24+ tips so you can pick the ones that match each finger's size and shape. Gel nail wraps Gel wraps are flexible strips of real gel that bond directly to your natural nail. They come in two formats:- Semi-cured โ€” needs a UV LED lamp to fully harden- UV-free โ€” fully cured during manufacture, just peel and press They sit flush with your natural nail rather than on top, which is why they look and feel like a salon gel manicure. Photo: ink Jelly Semi-cured Gel Nails Pros and cons of press-on nails Press-on pros - Fastest application โ€” 5โ€“10 minutes total- Reusable โ€” many press-on sets can be worn multiple times- Length options โ€” easier to get dramatic length without growing your nails- Easy to remove โ€” peel off with warm soapy water- Great for one-off events โ€” weddings, parties, photoshoots Press-on cons - Sit on top of your nail โ€” can look chunkier, especially up close- Less durable โ€” generally last 1โ€“7 days depending on glue strength- Higher lift / pop-off risk** โ€” daily activities can knock them loose- Can feel "thick"** โ€” some people find them uncomfortable- Glue can damage your natural nail โ€” especially if removed forcefully- Limited custom fit โ€” pre-sized tips don't suit every nail shape Pros and cons of gel nail wraps Gel wrap pros - Real gel โ€” looks and feels like a salon manicure- Sits flush with your natural nail โ€” no chunky overlay- Longer wear โ€” 7โ€“10 days (UV-Free) or 2+ weeks (Semi-Cured)- Strong and flexible โ€” designed to handle real life- Better for nail health โ€” when removed properly, no damage- Custom fit โ€” wraps adapt to your nail shape, no "wrong sized tip"- Huge colour and finish range โ€” chromes, glitters, classics, jewel tones Gel wrap cons Slightly longer application โ€” UV-Free: 10 minutes; Semi-Cured: 15โ€“20 minutes- Semi-Cured needs a UV lamp โ€” small one-off investment- Less suitable for very dramatic length โ€” wraps work with your natural nail shape, not on top of it- Slight learning curve โ€” first application takes practice (next ones are quick) Customer Photo: Purple Cats Eye Semi-cured Gel Nails Side-by-side at a glance Press-Ons | Gel Nail WrapsApplication time: 5โ€“10 mins | 10โ€“20 minsTypical wear time: 1โ€“7 days | 7 days (UV-Free) / 2+ weeks (Semi-Cured)Reusable: Often yes | NoSits on top of nail: Yes | No (sits flush)Custom fits your nail: Pre-sized tips | Adapts to your shapeDamage risk on removal: Moderate (glue) | Low (with cuticle oil)Length options: Easy to add length | Works with your natural lengthLooks like salon mani: Often more obvious | Indistinguishable from salonCost per wear: Often higher (per day) | Generally lower (per day) Who's each one for? That said, if you're truly only using nails for occasional events, reusable press-ons can be competitive. Photo: Vixen Red Semi-cured Gel Nails and Aztec Gold Nail Decals The honest summary Press-ons and gel wraps both have a place. Neither one is universally "better" โ€” they're built for different jobs. If we had to summarise it in two lines: - Press-ons = costume nails. Brilliant for the moment, less designed for the marathon.- Gel wraps = real-life nails. Built to look and feel like the real thing, day in, day out. Pick the one that fits how you actually want to wear nails, not the one that sounds easier. Quick recap - Press-ons sit on top of your nail; gel wraps bond flush- Press-ons wear 1โ€“7 days; gel wraps wear 7 days to 2+ weeks- Press-ons are faster to apply; gel wraps are stronger and longer-wearing- Press-ons can be reused; gel wraps are a one-set use- Press-ons suit one-night looks; gel wraps suit everyday wear- Both can absolutely coexist in your nail wardrobe Ready to try gel wraps? Browse our full gel nail wrap collection โ€” or go straight to the range that suits you best: If you want the easiest entry โ€” our UV-Free range is fully cured, lamp-free, and applies in 10 minutes. If you want the longest wear โ€” our Semi-Cured range sits flush, lasts 2+ weeks, and feels like a salon manicure. Gel Wraps vs Press-Ons FAQs Do gel nail wraps look more natural than press-ons? Generally, yes. Because gel wraps sit flush with your natural nail rather than on top, they don't have the "lifted edge" or thickness that press-ons can have. Close-up, press-ons often look obviously applied. Gel wraps look like a salon manicure. โธป Are press-ons cheaper than gel wraps? Per single set, sometimes yes. Per day of wear, gel wraps usually come out cheaper because they last longer. A $20 press-on set worn for 3 days = $6.66/day.A $16.50 gel wrap set worn for 10 days = $1.65/day. For everyday wear, gel wraps deliver better value. โธป Which is gentler on natural nails? Gel wraps โ€” when removed properly with cuticle oil and patience. The main risk with press-ons is forced removal โ€” pulling them off when the glue is still strong, which can take a layer of your natural nail with it. Press-ons used with sticky tabs (rather than glue) are gentler. Either way, gentle removal matters more than the product itself. โธป Can I sleep in press-ons or gel wraps? Both, yes. Gel wraps are bonded directly to your nail, so sleeping is a non-issue. Press-ons can occasionally pop off in your sleep (especially if your hands rub on a pillow). It's not common, but it does happen. โธป Can press-ons handle daily life like dishes, gym, work? Some can โ€” but they're more prone to popping off mid-task than wraps are. If you're after nails that survive normal everyday wear without thought, gel wraps are designed exactly for that. Press-ons are better suited to a planned wear period (a weekend away, an event week) rather than daily life on autopilot. โธป What if I want longer nails than my natural length? Press-ons have the edge here โ€” they let you add length without growing your own nails. Gel wraps work with your natural nail shape and length. They can extend slightly past the tip, but they're not designed for dramatic extensions. If you want long nails for an event, press-ons make sense. If you want salon-quality manis on your real nails, wraps are the move. โธป Can I use both at different times? Absolutely. Many of our customers do. Gel wraps for daily wear. Press-ons for the occasional event. They're not in competition โ€” they just do different jobs. โธป Which is better for beginners? Both are beginner-friendly, but UV-Free gel wraps are arguably the easiest of all: - No glue mess- No lamp needed- 10-minute application- Hard to mess up If you've never done your own nails, UV-Free wraps are a brilliant entry point. Not All Nails Are the Same: Why Yours Might Behave Differently

You and your best friend both order the same set of wraps. You both apply them at the same time. Hers last 14 days without a single lift. Yours start coming away at the corners by day five. Same product. Same prep. Same conditions. Different results. If this has happened to you, the answer is rarely "you did it wrong." It's almost always your nails. Just like skin, just like hair โ€” your nails have unique characteristics that influence how every product performs on them. Some nails are naturally oilier. Some are more porous. Some are thinner, more curved, more ridged. There's nothing wrong with any of these. They're just yours. And once you understand which type you have, you can tweak a few small things to get the most out of your manicure. Here's a friendly run-through of the most common nail types โ€” and what each one means for your at-home gel nail wrap routine. The 6 most common nail types (and what they mean for your wraps) ย  ย  1. Naturally oily nails What it looks like: Your nails always seem a bit shiny, even right after buffing - Polish, gel, and wraps tend to lift sooner for you than they do for friends - Hand cream feels like it absorbs faster than average Why it happens: Some people produce more sebum (natural oil) through the nail plate. It's almost always genetic. It's not a flaw โ€” it just means your nails don't naturally provide a "dry surface" for products to bond to. What helps: - Wipe each nail thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a prep wipe right before applying โ€” twice if needed - Avoid hand cream or cuticle oil for at least 30 minutes before application - Press your wrap edges down extra firmly (the rubber end of our Precision Tweezers is your friend here) - Keep your set fresh โ€” oily nails do better with shorter wear cycles than 2+ weeks - You can slightly buff the top surface of your nails before application ย  ย  2. Porous nails What it looks like:- Your nails seem to absorb water quickly when you wash up- They feel slightly soft after long showers or baths- Polish and wraps can sometimes lift evenly across the whole nail rather than just at edges Why it happens: Porous nails have a slightly more permeable nail plate. They take in moisture, oils, and even pigment more readily than less porous nails. It can be genetic, or it can be temporary โ€” frequent acetone use, dehydration, or harsh soaps can all increase porosity. What helps:- Apply your wraps when nails are completely dry โ€” not straight after a shower or hand wash- Wait 5โ€“10 minutes after wiping with prep alcohol before applying- Build a daily cuticle oil habit between manis to support overall nail health- Limit your acetone exposure (we recommend gentle peel-style removal anyway) ย  ย  3. Dry or brittle nails What it looks like:- Your nails crack, peel, or break more easily than you'd like- The free edge often looks rough or splits- Cuticles feel papery or tight Why it happens: Dry, brittle nails are most often caused by lack of moisture โ€” either due to age, hand washing, harsh cleaning products, or frequent gel/acrylic wear without breaks. Genetics and hormonal changes (like perimenopause) can also play a role. What helps:- Build a proper cuticle care routine with daily oil โ€” this is non-negotiable- Take breaks between sets every now and then- File gently from side to centre, never sawing back and forth- Use a moisturising hand cream after every hand wash- Consider a strengthening base under your wraps if it persists- Use our cuticle balm to help nourish and strengthen your nails ย  ย  4. Thin or weak nails What it looks like:- Your nails bend more than you think they should- They feel "soft" rather than firm- They struggle to grow past the fingertip without breaking Why it happens: Thinner nails can be genetic (just your natural nail thickness) or developed over time from frequent gel/acrylic wear without recovery breaks, low-protein diet, or certain medications. Pregnancy and hormonal shifts can also temporarily change nail thickness. What helps:- Take rest periods between sets โ€” even 1โ€“2 weeks every couple of months helps- Keep nails shorter while they recover- Cuticle oil daily (yes, again โ€” it really is the answer to most things)- Eat enough protein and consider a biotin supplement (chat to your GP first)- Use our cuticle balm to help nourish and strengthen your nails ย  ย  5. Ridged nails What it looks like:- You see fine vertical lines running from cuticle to tip- Sometimes there are horizontal indentations too Why it happens: Vertical ridges are very common and usually completely normal โ€” they often become more pronounced with age, like fine lines on your face. Horizontal ridges (called Beau's lines) can sometimes indicate health changes and are worth mentioning to your GP if they appear suddenly. What helps:- A very gentle buff to smooth the surface before applying โ€” don't over-file- Vertical ridges don't usually affect wrap performance much, but a smooth surface makes for a better seal- For deeper ridges, a ridge-filling base coat can help create a more even surface ย  ย  6. Naturally curved nail beds What it looks like:- Your nails curve downward at the sides (some are flatter, some quite arched)- Wraps sometimes feel tight or pull at the edges Why it happens: Nail bed shape is just genetic. Some people have flatter beds, others more pronounced curves. Both are completely normal. What helps:- Warm your wrap slightly between your fingers before applying โ€” it makes the gel more pliable- Stretch the wrap gently as you apply (especially with semi-cured wraps)- Press from the centre out toward the sides- Use the rubber end of your tweezers to firmly press the curved edges ย  ย  How to figure out your nail type Three quick at-home tests: The shine testAfter washing your hands and patting dry, look at your bare nails in good light. Do they still look shiny without polish? You may have naturally oily nails. The water testSoak your hands in warm water for 5 minutes. If your nails feel noticeably soft or "spongy" afterwards, you likely have more porous nails. The flex testGently press the side of your nail. If it bends more than you expect, your nails may be on the thinner or weaker side. You might be a mix of more than one โ€” most people are. The point isn't to put yourself in a box, it's to understand what your nails are telling you. ย  What this means for your manis The biggest takeaway: if your wraps don't last as long as your friend's, it's almost never personal. It's biology. But there's a lot you can do once you know what you're working with: - Oily nails? More prep wiping, less hand cream pre-application- Porous nails? Dry application surface, daily cuticle oil between sets- Dry/brittle nails? Cuticle oil, gentle filing, breaks between sets- Thin/weak nails? Rest periods, shorter nail length, protein in your diet- Ridged nails? A light buff, possibly a ridge-filler- Curved nails? Warm the wrap, stretch gently, press firmly Most people see a noticeable improvement in how long their wraps last just from making one small adjustment based on their nail type. ย  ย  When to talk to a professional If your nails have changed suddenly โ€” colour, texture, growth pattern, or shape โ€” it's worth mentioning to your GP. Healthy nails reflect overall health, and sudden changes can occasionally indicate things worth checking on. Most of the time it's nothing, but it's always better to ask. For ongoing concerns about nail strength or persistent issues, a qualified dermatologist can give you personalised guidance. ย  ย  Quick recap - Your nails are genuinely unique โ€” texture, shape, oiliness all vary person to person- The 6 most common nail types each have different "best practice" tweaks- Most lifting or short-wear issues are about working with your nails, not against them- Daily cuticle oil supports almost every nail type- Sudden changes are worth mentioning to your GP Your wraps don't need to behave the way someone else's do. They need to behave the way yours should. ย  ย  Want to support your nails between manis? Browse our Nail Care range for cuticle oil and prep essentials, or grab the Glass Tools Bundle if you want everything you need for clean prep in one place. When you're ready for a fresh set, browse the full gel nail wrap collection โ€” UV-Free and Semi-Cured ranges are right here. ย  ย  Nail Type FAQs How do I know if I have oily nails? A few signs:- Your nails look shiny even after buffing- Polish or gel tends to lift earlier for you than for friends- Hand cream seems to absorb faster than average If two or more of these sound like you, naturally oily nails are likely. Extra prep with rubbing alcohol before applying will make a real difference. โธป Are porous nails bad? Not at all. Porous nails are just a bit more permeable โ€” they take in moisture and products more readily. It can be genetic, or it can be temporary from things like:- Frequent acetone exposure- Long, hot showers and baths- Harsh hand soaps- Dehydration Building a daily cuticle oil habit between manis is one of the simplest ways to support porous nails. โธป Why do my gel nails lift faster than my sister's? It's almost always nail biology, not user error. The most common reasons one person's wraps lift sooner than another's:- Naturally oilier nails (less product grip)- More porous nail plate- Curved nail bed (wraps pull at edges)- Daily habits (more hot water, dish washing, gym) Once you identify your nail type, small tweaks in prep and application usually solve most of it. โธป Can my nail type change over time? Yes โ€” and it often does. Things that can change your nail characteristics:- Age โ€” nails often become slightly drier and more ridged over time- Hormones โ€” pregnancy, perimenopause, and thyroid changes all affect nails- Diet โ€” protein intake, biotin, and overall nutrition show in your nails- Lifestyle โ€” frequent water exposure, gel wear without breaks, harsh chemicals A change isn't necessarily a problem, but it's worth tweaking your routine to match. Should I take breaks from gel nail wraps? Not strictly required โ€” gel nail wraps are gentler on your nails than salon-applied gel polish or acrylics, especially when you remove them properly. That said, if you have:- Naturally thin or weak nails- Recently noticed any peeling or fragility- Been wearing wraps continuously for several months A short break (1โ€“2 weeks every few months) is a lovely reset. โธป Will my ridged nails affect how my wraps look? Vertical ridges (the most common kind) usually don't affect wrap performance noticeably. A very gentle buff before applying creates a smoother surface for the wrap to sit on. If your ridges are deep, a ridge-filling base coat can help create an even canvas. If you've suddenly developed horizontal ridges (lines running across your nail), it's worth mentioning to your GP โ€” sometimes these reflect a temporary health change. โธป Are gel nail wraps suitable for weak or damaged nails? In many cases, yes โ€” they can actually help by adding a protective layer over fragile nails. A few things to keep in mind:- Choose semi-cured wraps for added strength and structure if your nails are particularly weak- Use UV-free wraps for short-term flexibility- Always apply cuticle oil daily- Take occasional rest periods to let nails recover If your nails are visibly damaged or peeling significantly, it's worth letting them recover for a couple of weeks before applying anything new. โธป What's the most important thing I can do for my nails (regardless of type)? If you take one thing from this post โ€” cuticle oil. Daily. Healthy cuticles support healthy nails. They reduce lifting at the edges, slow nail breakage, and improve overall nail strength regardless of your nail type. Pop a Cuticle Oil Pen by your bedside table. One stroke per nail before bed. That's it. The difference after a few weeks is honestly remarkable. How to Remove Gel Nail Wraps at Home (Without Damaging Your Nails)

Putting them on is the fun part. Taking them off shouldn't be the bit you dread. If you've ever ripped off a gel mani in a moment of weakness โ€” and felt your nails complain for the next two weeks โ€” we get it. We've all been there. The good news is, gel nail wraps are designed to come off gently. You just need the right method (and about five minutes). Here's how to do it properly, whether you've got our UV-Free or Semi-Cured wraps on. Before you start: what you'll need Set yourself up first. It makes the whole thing quicker and stops the "where's my cuticle oil?" mid-removal scramble. You'll need: - A wooden cuticle stick or our Glass Tools- Cuticle oil- A nail file or buffer- A few minutes of quiet (a podcast helps) That's it. No acetone soaks. No foil wrapping. No drama. Photo: Cuticle Oil Pen How to remove Gel Nail Wraps Gel wraps are designed to be flexible โ€” that's part of what makes them so easy to apply and so easy to take off. Step 1 โ€” Drop a tiny bit of cuticle oil at the base of the nail.Right where the wrap meets your skin. Let it sit for 30 seconds. The oil starts to gently lift the seal. Step 2 โ€” Slide your wooden stick (or glass tool) under the edge of the wrap.Start at one corner near the cuticle, not the tip. Work slowly. Step 3 โ€” Lift, don't yank. The wrap will start to peel up in one piece. If it resists, add another drop of oil and wait a few more seconds. Patience here is everything. Step 4 โ€” Buff away any leftover residue.A light buff with the soft side of a buffer is all you need. Don't over-file โ€” your nail underneath is happy and healthy. Step 5 โ€” Re-oil and moisturise.Cuticle oil + a hand cream and you're done. Clean nails, no damage, no fuss. Three removal mistakes to avoid We've seen these come up in customer chats more times than we can count, so here's what *not* to do: 1. The rip-and-go. Pulling a gel wrap straight off without oil takes a microscopic layer of your natural nail with it. Don't. 2. Picking at the edges.Same issue, just slower. Bored on a Zoom call? We see you. But step away from the nails. 3. Soaking in acetone for ages. Some people still do this out of habit from old-school gels. Our wraps don't need it. Acetone dries everything out โ€” your nails, your cuticles, your patience. If you ever feel like a wrap is stuck โ€” it's almost always because it needs more oil and a bit more time, not more force. Photo: Vixen Red Semi-cured Gel Nails After removal: a 60-second nail reset Whether you're going straight back into a fresh mani or giving your nails a breather, this little routine makes a big difference: - Cuticle oil worked into each cuticle to soften and rehydrate- Our Cuticle Balm worked over the whole nail and surrounding skin to restore and nourish โ€” it's the perfect "second step" after the oil sinks in, especially after wearing wraps for 1โ€“2 weeks- Hand cream all the way up to your wrists- A glass of water (your nails are basically thirsty plants) If you're applying a fresh set straight away, our How Do I Push Back My Cuticles guide is a perfect next read โ€” proper cuticle prep makes your next mani last noticeably longer. > Just remember: if you're going straight into a fresh set, wipe each nail thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a prep wipe after the oil and balm have sunk in. Otherwise the moisturising layer that's so good for your nails between manis will stop your new wraps from sealing properly. Photo: Cuticle Balm Quick recap - Cuticle oil first. Always.- Lift from the cuticle corner โ€” never yank.- Patience beats pressure.- Buff lightly, re-oil, moisturise. Done.- No acetone needed for either UV-Free or Semi-Cured wraps. Salon-quality removal, minus the salon. Your nails get to come out the other side just as healthy as they went in. Need to restock your nail care essentials? Browse our Nail Care range for cuticle oil and prep essentials, or grab a Starter Kit if you want everything bundled. And if you're ready for a fresh set, the full UV-Free and Semi-Cured ranges are right here. Gel Wrap Removal FAQs How long does it take to remove gel nail wraps? When done properly, it's quick:- UV-Free wraps: around 3โ€“5 minutes for both hands- Semi-Cured wraps: around 5โ€“8 minutes for both hands The biggest factor is patience. Letting cuticle oil do its job for a minute or two upfront saves you time โ€” and your nails โ€” later. โธป Do I need acetone to remove gel nail wraps? No. This is one of the biggest differences between LA-BEK gel nail wraps and traditional salon gel. Acetone dries out:- Your natural nails- Your cuticles- The skin around your nails Our wraps are designed to come off with cuticle oil and a wooden stick โ€” gently, and without harsh chemicals. Save the acetone for when you genuinely need it. โธป Can I just peel my gel wraps off? Technically yes โ€” and you might get away with it sometimes โ€” but we really don't recommend it. Peeling without oil:- Removes the top layer of your natural nail- Can cause peeling, thinning, or weakness over time- Often hurts (your nail is telling you something) The cuticle oil step takes 30 seconds. Use it. Your nails will thank you. โธป What do I do if my gel wrap is really stuck? If a wrap won't lift, the answer is almost always more oil and more time โ€” not more force. Try:- Adding extra cuticle oil and waiting another 1โ€“2 minutes- For semi-cured wraps, doing a light pass with a 180-grit file to break the surface- Working slowly from a different corner If it still won't budge, walk away for 10 minutes. Come back and try again. Forcing it is the only way you'll damage your nail. โธป How often should I remove and reapply my gel wraps? It depends on your wear:- UV-Free wraps: typically last 7โ€“10 days- Semi-Cured wraps: typically last up to 2+ weeks When you start to notice lifting at the edges or visible regrowth at the cuticle line, it's time for a fresh set. Most people remove and reapply every 1โ€“2 weeks. If you have particularly thin or weak nails, taking a 1โ€“2 week break every few months is a lovely reset. โธป Will removing my wraps damage my natural nails? Done properly โ€” no. Our wraps are designed to come off without taking your natural nail with them. The damage people associate with "gel nails" almost always comes from one of three things:- Peeling without oil- Filing too aggressively after removal- Repeated acetone soaks (with traditional salon gels, not our wraps) Use cuticle oil, lift gently, and buff lightly. Your nails will be fine. โธป Can I apply a fresh set of wraps straight after removing? Yes โ€” but only if your nails are completely clean and oil-free. Best practice:1. Remove your existing wraps2. Buff lightly to smooth the surface3. Wipe each nail thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a prep wipe (this is crucial โ€” you've just put cuticle oil everywhere)4. Apply your fresh set Skipping the alcohol wipe is one of the most common reasons brand-new wraps lift early. โธป What's the gentlest way to remove if I'm short on time? If you have to rush:- Apply cuticle oil generously and rub it in for 30 seconds- Use the warmth of your other hand to help the oil sink in faster- Lift slowly with a wooden stick from the cuticle corner Don't be tempted to skip the oil entirely just because you're in a hurry โ€” even 30 seconds with oil is better than going in dry. Your future self will thank you. โธป Written by Laura & BekFounders of LA-BEK, an Australian brand creating semi-cured gel nail wraps and UV-free gel nail wraps designed to make salon-quality nails simple, at home.
