Tips and Tricks

Tip 1

Watch the video first, seriously. Customers who follow our instructions step by step get up to a week more wear. It makes a difference.

Tip 2

Natural oils and shine on your nail plate are the main reason wraps lift early. A proper prep removes both, and it's the single biggest thing you can do for longer wear.

Tip 3

When filing, the wrap should sit flush with the end of your nail, not over, not under. Even 1mm either way can cause lifting. Take your time here.

Tip 4

Ensure none of the wrap touches skin or cuticle. A good fit from the start means fewer lifted edges and longer wear.

Step By Step

Gel Nail Application Guide

1. Prep Your Nails

Clean nails are the foundation of long-lasting wear.

  • Wipe nails with an alcohol wipe, nail polish remover, or Isocol
  • Wash and dry hands thoroughly
  • Lightly buff the nail surface to remove shine
  • Gently push back cuticles with the supplied wooden stick

Tip: Nails must be completely dry and oil-free before you start, moisture is the enemy of good adhesion.

2. Pick Your Size

Choose the strip that best fits each nail.

  • If you're between sizes, always go slightly smaller
  • The strip should sit just inside your nail edges, never overlapping skin or cuticle
  • You can gently stretch it side-to-side for a more customised fit

A good fit from the start means fewer lifted edges and longer wear.

3. Peel & Place

Handle the strip carefully, oils from your fingers affect adhesion.

  • Peel the strip from the backing, avoiding the sticky side
  • Position it just below the cuticle, not touching the skin
  • Align carefully before pressing down

Important: Keep unused strips covered with the black protective sheet, UV light starts the curing process earl

4. Seal It In

Firm pressure now means better wear later.

  • Press the strip down from centre to edges
  • Use the flat end of the wooden stick to roll gently but firmly along the sides and tip
  • Pay extra attention to the edges, this is where lifting starts

Take your time here. Sealed edges = 2+ weeks of wear. You can also use the rubber tip of our precison tweezers.

5. Trim & Shape
  • Fold the excess strip over your nail tip, then file downward in one direction to remove the length - or see our video for alternative trimming options.
  • File under the free edge only, holding your file vertically
  • Press the tip down firmly one more time after filing

Once shaped, your nail should feel smooth and flush, no rough edges.

6. Cure Under Your Lamp

Place your nails under the UV LED lamp and press the button to activate.

  • Cure for 60–120 seconds for a firm, glossy finish
  • Cure all fingers at once to save time

Your gel is now locked in and chip-resistant.

7. You’re Done!

Your la-bek semi-cured gel nails are set and ready to go.

  • Keep hands dry for at least 2 hours after application
  • If a strip gets damaged, swap it with a spare, each pack includes extras

Can Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps help me grow my nails?

Many customers use our Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps as a protective layer while growing out weak, damaged or bitten nails. They help shield natural nails from everyday knocks and picking while supporting healthy growth.

My Semi-Cured strips feel thick after curing. Is this normal?

Yes. They are made from real gel polish and harden after curing. This firmness is what provides their strength and longevity.

My Semi-Cured strips weren't sticky when I opened them.

Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps are light-sensitive and may begin curing if exposed to sunlight or UV light.

Store unused strips in their black sleeve and apply away from direct sunlight.
