How Long-Lasting Are Semi-Cured Gel Nails?
"How long do these actually last?" is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: it depends on your prep as much as the product.
What two weeks of wear looks like
With proper application, semi-cured gel nail wraps hold up through washing dishes, exercising, typing, and normal day-to-day wear for more than two weeks. The gel itself is durable once fully cured, the wear time mostly comes down to how well the wrap was sealed in the first place.
What actually helps them last
- Starting with clean, completely oil-free nails
- Sealing the edges firmly so nothing catches or lifts
- Curing for the full recommended time under a UV/LED lamp, not just until it looks set
- Avoiding water and lotion for the first two hours after application
When wraps might not go the distance
Some nail types are naturally harder on any nail product, very oily nails or nails that see a lot of water exposure from dishes, swimming or gardening may see shorter wear than the average two weeks. That's not a flaw in the product, just something worth knowing so you can prep accordingly.
